To take a screenshot on Windows, press the Windows key + Print Screen to capture the full screen and save it to the Pictures > Screenshots folder automatically. To capture only the active window, press Alt + Print Screen. For more control, press Windows + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool, which lets you select a rectangular area, a freeform shape, a window, or the full screen. The screenshot is copied to your clipboard and can be pasted into any app. On Windows 11, the Snipping Tool also includes a video recording option for screen recording.
